Our Mission : Food, Education, Medicine
In a groundbreaking effort to enhance the response to gender-based violence (GBV) in Malawi, Emmanuel International Malawi, in partnership with CAVWOC and Emmanuel International Canada, recently conducted key assessment meetings in Machinga and Phalombe districts. These sessions are essential part of the Titukule Azimai Project, supported by funding from Global Affairs Canada. The purpose of these meetings was to test and gather feedback on an innovative digital reporting and referral system designed to improve how GBV cases are recorded and responded to across communities. The sessions brought together community members, healthcare workers and local leaders to evaluate the system's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Traditionally,GBV cases have been documented using handwritten reports and stored in paper files. While effective to some extent, these methods are vulnerable to loss and misplacement, causing delays in providing support to survivors. The new Digital Referral and Reporting System (DRSS) aims to address these challenges by providing a safer, more efficient way to report and respond to GBV icidents. Our vision is to create a responsive environment where victims can access timely assistance without fear or delay. The insights gained from these assessments are crucial as we work towards making the system fully operational and accessible to everyone in need.
