The Titukule Azimai project, implemented by Emmanuel International Malawi in partnership with CAVWOC and supported by Global Affairs Canada, is dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls who are survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Malawi.A key component of this effort is enhancing coordination among various service providers and government offices involved in GBV prevention and response. To achieve this, the project has facilitated the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to each district- Machinga, Phalombe and Mulanje. These SOPs serve as a practical guides to ensure that all stakeholders work in a harmonized, efficient manner, providing timely, respectiful and effective support to survivors.In Machinga, Phalombe and Mulanje districts, dedicated three-day workshops brought together districts officials and technical stakeholders to collaboratively draft these SOPs. The process emphasized inclusivity and alignment with national policies, ensuring the guidelines are relevant to local needs and sustainable within existing district system.Once finalized, these SOPs will become living documents, regularly updated to improve GBV prevention and response efforts. They aim to strengthen community safety, promote gender equality and empower women and girls, helping create environments free from violence and discrimination.
